We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Pennoyer Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Established in 1934, this 39-acre park features a playground, restrooms & tennis/pickleball courts.
What runners say about Pennoyer Park
“It's a picturesque spot for nature enthusiasts, and if you're lucky, you might spot some wildlife or capture the river's serene beauty.”
“The play of colors in the sky and the serene lake waters make this park a paradise for photographers and early risers alike.”
Nice park by the beach, and now with an upgraded and repaved bike path.
Nice park with lots of parking. Its winter while writing this review and not sure if the city cleans up the beach but sure needs it. Nice bike path also. I'll have to revisit during warmer days. Never saw any trouble here while visiting the few times I've visited so far
Very clean. Long walk to water though with lots of rocks! Good to collect and paint

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
