Confirmed from Perrot State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Scenic park featuring hiking trails over bluffs with river views plus camping & picnic areas.
What runners say about Perrot State Park
“I love this place some of the best and most scenic hiking trails in the wisconsin state park system that I found so far.”
This is a great park! It offers many options for things to do. Everything from hiking to biking to canoeing. For the biking the "The Great River" trail runs right by the park. You can connect with it and go either direction for a beautiful ride. The hiking is good as well.
Perrot State Park was one of the best birding destinations I have ever been to. The amount of waterfowl, shore birds, tundra swans, wading birds, hawks, and bald eagles made for an absolutely phenomenal day of birding. I seen a great deal of the birds just a short walk from the parking lot down to the shore line.
This park is a gem. It's location along the Mississippi offers great views. There's trails of various difficulties. Brady's Bluff offers one of the best views in Wisconsin. There's miles of great hiking trails here. The campground is well situated to be able to walk from to access any of the trails.
Very nice campground with a lot of spacious wooded campsites tucked in next to the Mississippi River. It gets a little buggy towards morning and evening due to some marshlands so bring your bug spray. Campsites range from large motor homes to tent camping. Fishing (kayak rental) and nice bike trails are available.

“Just be aware that these trails have a lot of elevation gain and drop and can be considered challenging to some people.”
“There is a loop trail for canoeing with great views and another fun way to see a different part of the park.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
