Confirmed from Phinizy Swamp Nature Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“The bald cypress were beautiful and glad they were on the boardwalk to the visitor center, truly the highlight of the visit.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“It is very family friendly with a playground and restrooms in a couple different locations with flushable toilets.”

Just the boardwalk alone is worth the visit. Beautiful views of the swamp, unique spot for pictures. The exhibit area was very nice. Clean restroom. Very friendly staff who also guide nature activities like bird watching. The playground was another great spot thst the kids enjoyed. A great day trip.

Visited on a cool, fall day and had a great 70 minute walk. Nice boardwalk portions of the trail; the grassy and gravel trails were also great. Saw some waterfowl, but no Gator sightings. There are many scenes of Spanish moss covered trees and bullrushes on the water's edge.

My wife and I love going hiking here and playing Frisbee. The place is well maintained and a beautiful nature spot in Augusta. Oftentimes, you will be able to spot alligators and various types of birds. The bathrooms are very clean and there are multiple.

First time visitors...What a beautiful park! Many bikeable and walkable trails. Beautiful boardwalks with lovely views and many moss draped trees everywhere. We saw many ducks and large beautiful birds...plus the 3 alligators we saw were a nice bonus!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
