Confirmed from Pigeon Hill Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Pigeon Hill Trailhead
“Paths are not real well marked so having a park map or on a phone a good idea.”
Amazing trails. From top you see the outline of Atlanta. Very clean. Do not let the incline in very beginning scare you! It did level out!
Great place to park the car and start the trail upto the mountain top via a very steep challenge at first which eases off later. You can return via a much flatter route once you do get to the top. It was easy to park and get the ticket.
I enjoy walking here. So peaceful and get to hear all the nature sounds. It's a great workout. I feel safe walking. I do recommend.
Endless memories to be shared @ Pigeon Hill! No hikes are the same, the wonderful people & dogs You meet is always so refreshing & encouraging! Gotta have a PB & J at the top? Throw the 🥏 in the fields at the bottom....
Trail conditions & character
“*You have to cross the road from the parking lot to get to the trailhead and the cars go fast on that road, so be on the lookout as you cross.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
