Confirmed from Pine Ridge Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Pine Ridge Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (238 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Gorgeous location with pathways for simple biking or strollers and a bit off pathways to feel like you’re hiking.”

🏃 great for running 2 mentions

“Definitely not a "hike" but if you wanted a nice loop to jog with lots of quick elevation gains this would be an ideal intermediate jogging space.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 7 mentions

“The trail was very peaceful and the walking surface fairly level and wide.”

🐕 dog-walking favorite 3 mentions

“I walk my dog here, go with friends, look at the ducks and more.”

This one was a bit lack luster. The main path was flat, but pretty rocky. It would make a pretty bumpy ride for someone in a wheelchair or stroller and wouldn’t be ideal for someone who wasn’t very sure on their feel. The pictures will show you what I mean a little more clearly.

Nice park to walk my older dog as the main path is flat. It is also wide enough for social distancing. There are also some narrower trails that follow the ridge line.

Very nice picnic type park. Only down side really, is how small it is. Definitely not a "hike" but if you wanted a nice loop to jog with lots of quick elevation gains this would be an ideal intermediate jogging space. Also a fun walk for doggos.

★★★★☆ — David , Jul 2023

Great little trail in my neighborhood is why I love it! It is peaceful, clean and easily accessible. There is an upper trail and and lower trail. Nice shady place to walk on a hot summer day.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“From the parking lot, the easiest way to get to the pond is to take the right hand path.”

Plan your run at Pine Ridge Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
