Confirmed from Pipe Creek Wildlife Area in Sandusky's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Great place to take a long relaxing walk. Amazing views in every direction!

★★★★☆ — Chad , Oct 2018

I love, love, love this Nature Preserve. Probably my second favorite in the Erie Metropark system. If you look from Google Maps, aerial view, it is shaped like an octagon. And divided into sections.

★★★★★ — Trish , Aug 2023

Nice spot to walk the dog. Good amount of parking. I found quite a few ticks on my pooch at the end of the hike, so make sure you're doing your tick checks.

★★★★☆ — Kimberly , Jun 2024

Nice little place to get away, very easy walk/hike. Tons of waterfowl. You get Cedar Point as a neat little back drop while you walk.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.

  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
