Confirmed from Point Gratiot Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Point Gratiot Park
“The beach is about as clean as you'd expect for a Lake Erie beach.”
“I love Lake Erie with the breeze and the waves, it is absolutely gorgeous 😍 I found beach glass and a few cute rocks to take home to Florida.”
“The park is severely lacking in shade due to an issue with the trees, but there are new trees planted in their place with the effort of restoring the park to it's natural beauty.”
“I was one of 3 people on the beach that day so it was very pleasant and peaceful.”
The park is nice, plenty of trees for shade on those picnic adventures. Pavilions for parties, trails for walking, biking, skating or whatever you would like to do. There were plenty of E-scooters for rent throughout the park. One of the best features in my opinion is the beach.
As someone who frequents this location for beach glass collecting, I can't say I'm disappointed with it. The beach is about as clean as you'd expect for a Lake Erie beach. They do their best to clean it during the tourist season.
Phenomenal park w sweeping views of Lake Erie and great historic lighthouse! Facilities are ample and beach is wide w life guards on duty during summer months. Walking trail from end to end w panoramic views!
The water was awesome. The kids all had a great time as did the adults. We got a good tan. There wasn't a lot of shade but I didn't go to the beach for shade. It wasn't too deep for the little kids but got deep enough out further for the big kids filled with fun, laughter and joy.
