Confirmed from Polly Ann Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Polly Ann Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (33 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“Nice biking trail, flat yes, but still a good trail for casual biking and well maintained.”

Great trail for walking or biking - especially for beginner trail bikers and families. The trail commission is constantly adding features like maps & signs, rest areas with water stations, bike repair stations and more. The parking lot by the Orion Center has just been paved.

Very beautiful trail, remote, with pretty foliage. Plenty of wildflowers, butterflies and birds along the way. Varies between paved and pebbled, my favorite parts are near the north side by Leonard, MI where the trail opens to prairie and marsh views as you get closer to the watershed.

★★★★★ — Roni , Sep 2025

I didn't get a chance to walk much of the trail since I was with my very young grandbabies who don't have the needed stamina. We were able to cross the bridge that spans M24, which they truly enjoyed.

★★★★☆ — Joe , Jan 2024

Polly Ann trail was great until we reached the Oakland county and Lapeer County border. Going into Lapeer county the trail went from four feet wide to about ten inches. That’s where we stopped.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
