Confirmed from Preservation Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Preservation Park
“But the park is clean and well kept.”
“Such a beautiful little spot to sit by the river and watch the geese, ducks and swans.”
Preservation park is a beautiful place. Fishing, boating, a park and baseball field for the kids, walking paths, and of course pets are all a part of this wonderful place. Snuggled up on the rock river catfish are a good catch among others.
Nice place to bring the kids to play. Plenty room to go walking, running or riding a bike. Even has a pavilion to have a family gathering or small picnic. You can fish and drop off the boat to go for a ride up and down the river.
A beautiful place to relax and enjoy a good day or delightful evening. One of my favorites to go and walk my dogs, they have a small and medium circuits to walk, kids playground, and bleaches to sit and appreciate the river .
My five year old loves this playground and spacious outdoor area. The other kids were friendly to my child. The other parents were very nice and watch their kids. This playground isn't over run w unruly unwatched bigger kids.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
