Confirmed from Pricketts Fort State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
State park featuring a re-creation of Pricketts Fort, with actors demonstrating 18th-century life.
What runners say about Pricketts Fort State Park
“Educational, plenty of picnic areas, access to the rail trails, lovely little restaurant, clean facilities, lots of wildlife, boat ramp, dog friendly, and more.”

A wonderful place to spend the day! The staff are welcoming and ready to interact with stories and answer your questions. There is also a gift shop, museum, trails to walk and kayak rentals. A little spot to grab a some lunch and an ampatheater for outdoor music.
Beautiful historic state park along the Monongahela River. Educational, plenty of picnic areas, access to the rail trails, lovely little restaurant, clean facilities, lots of wildlife, boat ramp, dog friendly, and more.
I have fond childhood memories of this place, having visited it on a field trip in the 80s. Back in those days it wasn't an issue for a 10yo child to buy a working frontier tobacco pipe from the gift shop and pretend to smoke like some WV Davy Crocket on the bus ride home.
This historic park is small and the original fort was replaced with a new one, if I read it correctly. Kind of disappointed because the original is always better, maybe it wasn't possible to maintain the original. To enter the fort or the blacksmith shop, ticket purchase is required.
