Confirmed from Provo Canyon's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Scenic

Scenic canyon with a waterfall & historic railroad, plus a ski resort famed for its film festival.

What runners say about Provo Canyon

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (362 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 11 mentions

“Gorgeous canyon which leads to a gorgeous mountain landscape once you hit Deercreek reservoir and beyond.”

We like to walk the trail to Bridal Veil Falls! It’s a short walk, and the waterfall is beautiful! However, the Provo canyon is soooo busy, and it can be difficult to pull off into the parking lot and find a spot. It’s even more difficult to safely get out of the parking lot and onto the main road when you leave!

One of my all time favorite canyons. Provo Canyon has over 12 different parks that offer unique experiences, from the provo river, to well kept trails and beauty that’s incredible. There’s always a photo opportunity, so don’t forget the camera!

Super fun area. It's a great start to the Alpine Loop if you're looking for something fun to do. It has the best views and is honestly just pretty. There's a lot of walking on biking paths, and even a waterfall.

Very nice spot, the falls is where most people will go to and take photos. You can climb up higher to take photos but do so at your own risk. Nuns trail is also a nice walk to see nature. It was a mostly quiet walk but it might be different when it's warmer

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
