We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Quarter Horse Drive Trailhead yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Quarter Horse Drive Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (40 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“Beautiful hiking area showcasing picturesque views of Yorba Linda and Anaheim.”

I chose this as the starting point at Chino Hills State Park as there are multiple locations, mainly due to the restrooms and ample parking. It is very vertical uphill from the start. It was an amazing tail 5 and glad we did 5 miles round trip.

Ample parking. Great place to hike with majestic views of north orange county. There are restrooms at the trailhead with a few picnic tables.

Wow, what a view up here! I heard about this lookout from a friend and had to see for myself. Up here, seeing is believing! On a clear day, it’s possible to see the ocean, with distant ships on the horizon and Catalina Island in the background!

★★★★★ — Jim , Oct 2021

Beautiful hiking area showcasing picturesque views of Yorba Linda and Anaheim. Catalina Island could easily be seen on a clear day. The walkway starts out as a horse trail, then leads to the ever-expansive Chino Hills State Park. Make sure to bring plenty of water and proper hiking attire, as this hiking spot is steep.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
