Confirmed from Rainbow Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

One of my favorite places for a quick hike. If alone be aware of your surroundings. I've ran into a few creeps and some hobos off in the bushes while I was walking this trail. I would say it's a great trail if you aren't alone!

Rainbows from the waterfall The Rainbow Trailhead in Ogden, Utah, offers an exceptional hiking experience. Most of the trail is shaded, providing a comfortable hike even on sunny days. You'll encounter numerous peaks with fantastic views, and towards the top, you're rewarded with a breathtaking overlook of Ogden.

★★★★★ — Nate , May 2024

Nice trail with access to the waterfall lookout, lower trail to 22nd Street trailhead and access to Bonneville Shoreline Indian trail. Well mantained, but not very wide in a few spots. Which means you need to be aware of bikes coming down from above. Saw deer, birds, and wildflowers along the way.

★★★★☆ — Rick , May 2022

It's a really pretty hike to do in the fall. It has some elevation gain, but it's not a lot and it's very gradual. Depending on what your plans are, it can be a very chill quick hike before or after work. To God be the glory.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
