Great access to "The Ledge" and Eagle Cave. Trails in great shape and uncrowded. Get high real quick and get stunning views of Fremont Island and South to the Great Salt Lake. Saw some deer. Be advised, if you are heading towards the Indian trail up the canyon, the trail is steep and very narrow.
It was a lovely hike, wonderful views. I enjoyed hiking it with my friends.
You can get to several trails from this trailhead, Rainbow, Indian, Hidden Valley, Taylor, Malan, Waterfall, and Shoreline. All of these trails offer awesome overlooks and beautiful peak views.
Hard hike especially if you hike from the 22nd Street to the 12th Street trailhead and back - 9 miles. 2,000 foot elevation gain. Bring plenty of water, hiking poles and some kind of nourishment - I was getting very weak near the end. Saw one baby rattlesnake about 6 inches long. There are some great views.
