Confirmed from Rand Tract Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking area with a kid-friendly trail and a pond where visitors can feed ducks and geese.
What runners say about Rand Tract Park
“Rand Track Park is a clean and peaceful public park.”
“What a amazing place, so much to see , beautiful walk ways, tons of seating, but a brick and help support this gem in the community”
Great place ducks eat right out of your hand they take donations for corn lettuce (bird feed) so there enough for the whole family to go around but what makes the place 5 stars is the amazing staff who give there all for your family to have an amazing day out the uo keep on the place is amazing and the trail around…
I have been going to Webster Pond for decades. I enjoyed the ducks and geese before they built the trail to walk all the way around the pond. Fabulous place to take your kids and a camera.
I never knew this place existed until a couple of weeks ago. I found out about it on a trail map app. Google maps took us to the residential trailhead. I felt strange parking on the dead end since I don’t know the neighborhood well and saw no other cars, only houses and one of them had a yard full of junk.
This is a pretty big area. GPS took us to what looks like a dead end but it turned out to be one of the entrances to the park. We just parked in front of the houses but made sure not to block their driveways. Didn't have a problem with any of the residents coming out and telling us to move or anything.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
