Confirmed from Clark Reservation State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Clark Reservation State Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,128 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“It’s easy to want to hop down big rocks but the trail swerves to make it easy for everyone Best view is the scenic look right of the parking lot”

A beautiful hiking place along an ancient glacial lake. The trails here always hold something inspiring and new. The different elevations and geological layers throughout the park are unique. In the spring and summer, there is a Nature Center that is definitely recommended!

Wonderful place to go hiking. I was not wearing good shoes, so made it a bit tough. Great views, moderate trails, was very dry the day we went, but I can imagine it's slippery when wet.

A wonderful park to go for a hike! We didn't expect so much climbing up and down rocks, and were ill prepared in the shoe department. We will definitely return better prepared! Update: We came better equipped this time and decided to try the Swamp Trail! Be prepared for bugs, climbing rocks, and some spots of mud.

★★★★★ — Tanner , Jul 2025

Did the swamp and lake trail. It took about 45mins walking pace. You’ll be walking on a lot of boulders, rocks, tree roots, and more. There’s a great unobstructed view of the entire lake on the opposite side of the stairs leading to the trail. Parking is $5 dollar and there’s a self service machine.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“The only thing was today I decided to take the swamp trail and figured out too late that it stops being accessible after a while and had to make my way back to another trail.”
