Confirmed from Red Cliffs National Conservation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Red Cliffs National Conservation Area

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (2,565 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 15 mentions

“We hiked 2-3 miles, it was beautiful and unique, kids were just getting tired in 90 degree weather but that’s the nice thing, any level of hiker could do here.”

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“No shade and some of the roads are a little eh but there are places to park closer to the road if you’re not comfortable taking your vehicle down a bumpy dirt road!”

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“I'm sure I'm biased because I'm from here but there are countless trails for all levels of hiking as well as fun camping spots all over the place.”

Been here several times and it is different every season. I love that it can be a quick hike or several hours. This is a great hike for the entire family. While it is not the easiest hike to drive to or from it is worth it. Plan to arrive early as there are not a ton of parking spaces available.

This is one of the most stunning slot canyons that has relatively easy access from the trail head. It's a short hike and you follow a shaded creek part of the way. You end up at some stunning bathing pools. We take all our visitors here to marvel and the natural wonders of Utah.

Quite amazing. Easy to enjoy the trails for someone who is not in fantastic shape. Our family of 14 with ages raging from 8-78 thoroughly enjoyed this in 99 degree weather. Just pace yourself, be smart, and drink your water. We took our two little Poodles and brought water for them, it was lovely!

I'll start off by saying that this is in a fee area, but its well worth the $5 or $10 dollars for day use. Absolutely beautiful hike that all of my family (5 little ones 1-9 years old) were able to complete with a great payoff.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
