We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Regional Trail Corporation yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Regional Trail Corporation

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (96 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“Bathrooms are very clean; excellent souvenir sop; and what looks like an excellent railroad museum.”

Nice place to stop along the GAP trail for a break. Plenty of benches for sitting. Very friendly lady working inside that I talked to for 15 minutes about almost everything. They sell a variety of GAP Trail items, I purchased some stickers. They have some maps for free. Free potable water outside the building.

Nice little Visitor Center across the street from a very good Pizzeria. The staff were pleasant and I had a great time chatting with him about all the great things I'm going to see on this Trail.

One of the best maintained and beautiful bike trails in the US between Pittsburgh Pa and Cumberland Md. Between Cumberland Md and Washington DC is probably the poorest maintained as it is managed by the Federal government.

We stopped here as we biked the GAP and C&O Canal trails to DC. Bathrooms are very clean; excellent souvenir sop; and what looks like an excellent railroad museum. Lots of neat antiques to look at. Very nice staff.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
