I've been here several times before for kayaking and to see the trail. Decided to lead a kayak event with my hiking group. Arranged with the Environmental Services Department to have the gates open, and Mike the caretaker was more than happy to do so, and let us park closer to the kayak launch.
Richard E Becker Preserve is a 13 acre preserve on Ten Mile Creek which is part of the head waters of the St. Lucie River North Fork. It is named after Richard E Beckerwho was the owner of the Becker Holding Corporation which is a citrus and agricultural business still operated by his family. In 2011, St.
Richard E. Becker Preserve is 13 acre park with a half mile hiking trail along Ten Mile creek. They also have campsite and kayak options. Neat little place tucked out of the way.
Beautiful preserve with nice walking trails. Plenty of designated parking!
