I hike in the Rio Rancho/Corrales Preserve every day with my trusty canine companion. Keep your dog on a leash I've encountered bobcats, Porcupines, skunks, raccoons and Coyotes in the Bosque.
The trail system is good, next to the Rio Grand River. Not a lot of people here mid day Friday afternoon. Great weather for early December!
Nice access to the bosque trails. Large parking lot. Looks to be fun when it cools down.
This is a wonderful little portage and beach. It requires a long slow drive a washboard dirt road, along an irrigation ditch, but then, for those who've braved it, you are rewarded with the end of civilization and the beginning of a journey along the Rio Grande. Dog walk, bike or toss in a float.
