Confirmed from Trailhead Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

Great little Overlook of the Rio Grande and the Sandia. My boyfriend and I are photographers and we really liked the quick drive from Corrales as well as the perfect view of the Sandia Mountains. There was lots of Runners and people walking with their families and dogs.

The turn off to get to the parking lot is a little dirt road between 2 metal poles. Sometimes it can be hard to see. The lark itself has a trail with lots of benches for resting. It runs a lot the rio grande which provides more sight seeing. You can bring pets if they are leashed.

My favorite spot to walk along the river and Bosque area. Lots of wildlife, the water sounds are wonderful as is the rustling of the trees. Plenty of trails for walking, biking and horseback riding. Plainly the best river access area around.

WOW! Stunning mountian view, easy walk with minimal elevation changes. We were in Albuquerque in November of 2023 visiting friends, and wow, this was our absolute favorite spot. The view of the mountain was spectacular, and the kids enjoyed looking at and searching for rocks and exploring the different plant life.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
