Confirmed from River Road Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring a river walk alongside abundant ducks and turtles.

Very nice and has a lot of ducks/geese - and soooo many turtles! Just turtles everywhere - a TMNT party on every block. Nice trail with a dog waste station and some restrooms. The restrooms are purely in case of emergencies - they're not the cleanest.
Beautiful after school walk exploring River Road.. it was clean and quiet and just a fun little adventure for a 3 and 5 year old…
Amazing park in a small town. The park has a long trail along the river stream. It has beautiful scenic landscape. During fall time the tree changes its color makes it picture perfect. Its in a small German town. You can enjoy the foods in the restaurants just besides this park and enjoy the nature.
I have lived here over 30 years and this river has been an amazing respite and source of peace in me, my wife and my kid’s lives. It has been completely upgraded and more paths have been added and it makes living in a small town such a joy. Good job @city of Boerne.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
