Confirmed from River Run Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about River Run Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (231 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

I love the fact that Denver has invested in revitalizing the platt river both from an ecological and public use perspective. River run park showcases the effort with great amenities like parking, bathrooms, bike paths, seating, a surf wave, and nice grass.

★★★★★ — Brian , Jun 2023

River run park is a fun place for people of all age groups, if you are into boating, cycling, running this is the best place you can find in Denver. They have facilities for small picnic, you can explore the nature with you r family. The Englewood rec center is nearby so you can also go for some games or golf.

★★★★☆ — Biswanath , May 2024

It is a small park but it has some very fun river rapids for tubes. There is a grass terrace on one side for picnics and relaxing between rides. The river has two rapids right at the park that can be quickly ridden and walked between.

★★★★★ — Jj , Jun 2025

Nice spacious park that is perfect for walking, biking, tubing or surfing. Nice big waves with a huge path for walking, jogging or biking. Golf course nearby but walk connects to I-70 trail.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
