Confirmed from Centennial Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
37-acre city park offering a lake, nature trails, picnic pavilions, sports fields & a playground.
What runners say about Centennial Park
“One of my favorite parks in South Denver as the people are very friendly and the dog owners always clean up after the furry friends.”
“My dog loves to swim in the lake and greet & meet new furry friends along the path.”
One of my favorite parks in South Denver as the people are very friendly and the dog owners always clean up after the furry friends. The path around the lake is one mile and bathrooms are clean and available from spring through fall.
The doggo walkers' option to let 'em go free, aka "off-leash" is mine & Chance's favorite feature of this sweet little paved path park. Located off of Decatur St.
Very relaxing place! I love going on walks in the summer and this is one of the best places to just sit and read when the concrete barriers on the sides of the river aren't covered with water. Wild sunflowers grow like crazy here as well! So gorgeous!
This park is awesome for tubing in the summer. There are 4 swishy fun slider Rapids and when you make it to the bottom you can just get out and walk to the top again... No need to stage a shuttle. Big win here for all the teenagers on summer break!

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
