Confirmed from River Trails Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Quiet

Peaceful, clean, well-maintained playground offering a variety of swings and slides, plus picnic spots.

What runners say about River Trails Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (107 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 8 mentions

“This is a good neighbor park, it's clean and the trail leading to the woods is long enough to get all my steps in for the day.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“A peaceful and quiet place to run!”

Running trail starts here and follows along the Trinity River (eventually connecting under Loop 820 but currently under construction). The trail is smooth, wide, and mostly flat. A peaceful and quiet place to run!

★★★★★ — David , Sep 2020

Big park. Will connect to trail on other side of 820. The old growth section along the Trinity is great

★★★★☆ — Kenneth , Mar 2020

I live here next to River Trails Park. I love every thing about the park, bike trails and the neighborhoods.

★★★★★ — Danny , Dec 2020

This place is pretty cool. Theres trails that go about 2 miles behind the playground, great for running. It isn't finished yet though.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
