Confirmed from Hurst Community Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Excellent park.massive green area, 4 baseball/ little league fields, new double grill recently installed at pavilion for any event held there, sand volleyball 🏐, decent playground, Wells natural area is a nice shaded walkway with trails that branch off from it to explore.

I love this little park. I usually feel safe walking my small dog, but lately, people who believe it's okay to let their dogs run without a leash have increased. Sad because there are signs posted everywhere with instructions about keeping dogs on leashes.

★★★★☆ — Sonya , Sep 2025

Large park with soccer fields, base ball diamonds, volleyball court and a playground. Good walking path. Stay to the paved route to stay away from the poison oak/poison ivy.

★★★★★ — Jeremy , Apr 2018

Nice park near north east mall. The trail is not long but it is really nice. It has 2 volleyball courts, play place for kids and has tables for picnic.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
