Confirmed from River’s Edge Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about River’s Edge Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (40 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

“Nice little park, seems well kept and not too busy.”

I had a nice walk in the woods and along the river this evening. Almost had the while place to myself. Luckily it's still a little cold, I bet this place is mosquito central in warmer months. Saw two people in kayaks on the river, though.

★★★★★ — Jim , Mar 2026

This will be a great dog park once it is finished up and they roll it and grass grows. Great path to walk on along the river outside the fenced in area.

★★★★☆ — Mitch , Mar 2022

I came for the dog park. There's also a nice playground area for the kids, a dock to fish from and trails through the woods.

★★★★★ — Michelle , May 2022

Nice little park with a neat playground. ♿We were slightly disappointed to see it advertised as ADA accessible after taking the trail. The trail is crushed stone and is barely ADA accessible. My husband was able to push me in my wheelchair along the path, although we got stuck in one spot where the gravel was deep.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at River’s Edge Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
