Confirmed from White Pine Trail - Access Point's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about White Pine Trail - Access Point
“The stunning White Pine Trail in full fall colors in Rockford.”
Another fantastic day to get out and run. A little sunshine here and there and the temp was slightly above freezing! Nice to see a few more people out on the trail. It has felt more like my own private running path most of the winter with the really low temps, but that's okay.
Very convenient place to get on the White Pine Trail. You can bypass a lot of traffic in parking, and foot traffic if you start here.
People from the north end of Rockford often use this point to access the trail. One can walk either North or South from here, and have a pleasant walk. Folks coming from further often use the adjoining parking lot to use this point. Our annual Mitchells run turns from a street run to a trail run at this point.
Trail conditions & character
“There is a small pond right here which is nice to view - particularly when the local swans her swimming about.”
“Folks coming from further often use the adjoining parking lot to use this point.”
