Confirmed from Riverside Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Sprawling park featuring tennis and volleyball courts, plus playgrounds, baseball fields and fishing spots.

What runners say about Riverside Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (451 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“Kayaks to rent, baseball field, super clean bathrooms, walk around the lake, feed the ducks or fish, and huge wood playground for the kids!”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Gorgeous Riverside Park along Rock River in Watertown Wisconsin is the town park with everything.”

Great Park! Lots of water and fishing. Fun for playing and walking, looking at wildlife, and even having get togethers! Bathrooms are far from nice but it doesnt need to be anything special for a quick in and out bathroom break. The park is really big and fun, wood is old and worn but doesnt take away from the fun!

I loved walking around this park. We saw lots of baby ducks and geese since it was late May. Of course there was plenty of goose poop all over, but nothing can be done about that.

★★★★★ — Don , May 2024

Always a great park. Play areas, picnicking, groups or walks - a wonderful experience.

★★★★★ — Maxwell , Oct 2020

Multiple volleyball courts, tennis courts, and basketball courts. There is a stage, a dance hall, and large restrooms. There are two playgrounds for the kids, but the wooden one is much bigger, and it has a fence to keep your kids from running to the river.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
