Confirmed from Roanoke Community Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Pond-dotted park with a play area and baseball fields, plus picnic tables/firework views.
What runners say about Roanoke Community Park
“Very small play area for the kids but other than that they keep this place clean and inviting.”
“I don't have any pictures but it is peaceful there and there is a playground, restroom and a lake.”
Always a nice trip over here! Plus with the skatepark, water park, AND shopping strip right by it, it’s easily one of Roanoke’s busiest areas of foot traffic. The one draw back however is the lack of side walks to & from Main Street.
I really like this walking path/park. It's a clean, quiet, kind of hidden little gym. No riff raff and feels very safe. ☺️ Has a small little playground for kiddos and a pretty little pond with a lookout area. Also has unlocked restrooms (very clean) which I very much appreciate!
Quiet place to walk when there’s no softball. Great little pond and deck.
Nice park for walking and fishing. The pond contains a lot of catfish.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
