Confirmed from Roanoke River Greenway: Bennington St.'s own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Roanoke River Greenway: Bennington St.
Nice paved greenway with plenty of free parking. Several restrooms along the way and playgrounds. Also several picnic tables under the shelter at the park. This path follows along the beautiful Roanoke River. We saw a lot of flowers and shade trees that were just amazing.
The Roanoke Greenway is a lengthy paved bicycle and pedestrian trail along the Roanoke River. Parts are very scenic. Numerous places to park your car and get on. It is in good shape.
Walk the greenway and learn some Roanoke history.....plus get some exercise in...what ever level you are there's something for all.....
Good trailhead to use for the Greenway. Good birding spot as well as a cycling beginning point.
