Confirmed from Roberta Hunter Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Roberta Hunter Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (303 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“Great park, it's always clean and it has fitness equipment in the center.”

🌳☀️🏡 Very unique and refreshingly simple in design, you can basically walk a solid mile in a straight line in the shade or veer off into the sun depending on your Vitamin D preferences. The path is thoughtfully mixed in with exercise equipment and water fountains for convenience.

★★★★★ — Harrison , Feb 2026

Wide open and good for a nature trail walk and steady cardio at your pace. Comes equipped with pull up and dip bars, and a sit up/crunch bar. Goes the length of almost 10 or 11 blocks depending on the start of trail, and leads toward Quail Roost Dr.

★★★★☆ — Tony , Nov 2018

It's a really nice place to go walking but the walking lane is busted up because of the tree roots, as a matter of fact I tripped and felled on Saturday. You really have to be careful if you're jogging.

★★★★☆ — Priscilla , Jan 2021

Great park for walking. Pets would love it too. On leash only. Lots of trees. Bring your own drink. No restrooms. The parking area can hold approximately 8 cars.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
