Confirmed from Rock Hill River Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏃 great for running 3 mentions

“great for walking, running, biking, skating and wheelchairs!”

Love walking here! Beautiful area along the Catawba River. There are wooded trails to walk as well as a nice, wide paved path. Biking is also fun here whether it be on the paved path or using the trails for mountain biking.

★★★★★ — Christy , Jan 2018

Beautiful linear park. My experience was running with my canine running partner on The Piedmont Medical Trail. The main trail is multi purpose, paved, and appropriate for running, walking, cycling, leashed dogs, nature watching, easy hiking. The trail follows The Catawba River, and is part of the Carolina Thread Trail.

★★★★★ — Patricia , Jun 2019

Nice relaxing place to walk the trails, bicycle, kayak/canoe, or picnic. There is a large covered shelter with plenty of parking. However, there are only port-a-johns for bathrooms.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
