We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Rock Island Trail - Railroad Street Trailhead yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Rock Island Trail - Railroad Street Trailhead
Great trail for biking, walking or running. Mostly a gradual grade, it's mostly hard packed gravel with sections of concrete path. Only a few road crossings, otherwise a great outing. Great access from either Arrowhead or Crane Brewery in Raytown.
22 miles on rock island trail today. Beautiful day, wonderful people on the trail
I'm obsessed with this trail. I discovered it when I was living in Raytown and riding my bike a lot. I'd use to bike to lees summit sometimes. Now I live in LS and still use the trail. I even got this cool sticker from a small LS shop a few months ago.
Nice trailhead where the old Raytown train station was. Has an on-site tap room and parking lot.
