Confirmed from Rocky Run Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Rocky Run Trail
“Great hike, moderate ups and dowms, Varried trail terrain and great views.”
“) Part of the trail is next to the road (not busy) and the property next to it but the rest is in the woods which are very pretty and peaceful.”
Trails are a little confusing especially once you connect to the Darlington trail. Can’t tell which is which. Beautiful views though along the trails. I hike with a baby carrier so they are manageable.
Pretty easy trail! Beautiful trees and rocks, meeting with a couple other trails as well. Was worried since I don't exercise and have health problems but I finished the full 1.9 MI (made me feel proud of myself!
Excellent. Bring good waterproof boots for the 2 crossings to get on to the darlington trail. Great hike, moderate ups and dowms, Varried trail terrain and great views. I recommend it
The Rocky Run Trail follows the Rocky Run river through a patch of woods, and offers a perfectly lovely short hike.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
