Confirmed from Rocky Top Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Rocky Top Trailhead
Pretty good set of trails, just outside Yakima. It was a bit hard for us to find, but we are not that familiar with the area. The terrain is mostly open hillsides, not too steep, or not too rocky - great for beginners I would say.
Trailhead is good(jumps are better) even though the company here keeps cutting traiks back so they can store more garbage here in our backyards. They also stopped the water for the Juno's this year- if wster gets turn back on I'd have NOTHING BUT GOOD things to say....but as is......
The trails offer an opportunity to hike, bike, run or horseback some well cared for trails. The views from on top take in the whole Yakima Valley without to much effort getting up there. I highly recommend it 👌
We went hiking 🥾 in the afternoon. It was windy but enjoyable. The trail could use some more signs.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
