Confirmed from Cowiche Canyon Trail East Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking area with kid-friendly trails and a winery for adult visitors.
What runners say about Cowiche Canyon Trail East Trailhead
“The trail itself is well maintained.”
“Gorgeous hike through basalt rocks, scrubby desert plants ,and flowers, sweet Sage and a few Ponderosa Pine!”
“A family friendly walking trail that can also offer more for those that like a little climb.”
This was our jump-off point for a December hike. Nervous because there was fresh glass shattered all over the ground at parking. Another car had signs on their window saying "PLEASE DONT SMASH, CAR EMPTY". Despite the bad first impressions this was an awesome hike.
This trail is awesome. Beautiful scenery and not difficult to navigate. Went earlier before spring most likely looks even better now. If you have free time I’d recommend this to anyone.
Gorgeous hike through basalt rocks, scrubby desert plants ,and flowers, sweet Sage and a few Ponderosa Pine! This trail also has a small river that you can stop and wash your face in, too swift to swim though. 😎 saw a family with small kids, so easy enough for children.
A family friendly walking trail that can also offer more for those that like a little climb. This trailhead is somewhat suspect as you pull in, several spots have shattered glass from break-ins. So caution with your belongings. The trail itself is well maintained.
