Pretty hiking spot with a dog park. Beautiful little pond with great reflections on a calm day. Surprising location not far from the Merritt Pkwy and more densely populated areas.
Hiking Trail Review. Roosevelt Forest Loop - 2.61 miles. Trailhead from all trails is not very accurate, it is best to go to 700 Peters Lane. Parking lot here is free and very spacious. Trail is very well marked and maintained. There are a great deal of intersecting trails to shorten or extend your hike.
This is a great little forest with a pond and well kept walking trails. I was impressed by its cleanliness. There are also old foundations/ruins to explore and cool boulders to climb. This is a great place to bring the kids for a stroll anytime of year.
Beautiful forest park. Hiking all over the place. Wildlife viewing. It has a creek and a pond. All gorgeous and clean. I saw a few other people with dogs at the parking lot but I never saw anyone else on any trails. There is a dog park just next door. The park is clean and well kept.
