Confirmed from Roosevelt Woodland Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Roosevelt Woodland Trail
“Decent sized trail, really gorgeous wetlands/marshy area.”
Decent sized trail, really gorgeous wetlands/marshy area. Dirt path with many roots. Great for walks! Hidden gem in Central Jersey.
Everything you want in a nature trail can be found right here in Roosevelt.
New things are always being worked on at the trail that connects behind FDR,Head Sculpture by John Shahn and ends on Tamara Dr. Cause that one has the Empty Box Brook, which means the trail needs more maintenance. It is also my favorite part of all the many trails. The is a new 10 by 10 deck on that trail.
Interesting history to the community of Roosevelt. Nicely maintained waterside path.
Trail conditions & character
“I use it for stretching and I was always taking my shoes off ,as not to get it dirty/ muddy.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
