Confirmed from Rotary Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“This is a small but beautiful nature preserve.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“My daughter and I like to come here and walk around, or just sit at the pavilion and read or enjoy the peace and quiet.”

A nice, small park and trail system. There is a parking lot, restroom and covered picnic tables. We usually go through here at the beginning and end of our walk or ride around Birch Lake.

As a member of Rotary International (of White Bear Lake) I am biased. But, putting that aside, it really is a neat hidden gem. The shelter is outstanding for picnics and small gatherings. It has a bathroom facility too. My kids love the long boardwalk and finding nature.

I took my puppy to explore this park and we loved it! The boardwalk is lovely and we plan to come back in the summer. It is dog friendly (must be leashed) so that is always a plus in my book (pick up after your dogs folk!). There is also a bathroom. It is small park so keep your expectations realistic.

This park is a real gem. The walking trials are really nice and part of one of the trails is a wooden walkway across part of the wetland so you can see some of the plants and water creatures in a unique way.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🚻 Restrooms 7 mentions

“Small local park with paved trail, board walk, pavilion and restrooms (open seasonally).”
