We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Rotary Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Rotary Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (464 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 11 mentions

“An amazingly beautiful park that is extremely well designed for photography, camping, and spending time with that special someone.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Early morning and late nights with a headlamp, peaceful bouldering.”

Beautiful hike with great views. The trail is well maintained and easy to find. I was surprised to see such few people on the trail. Dogs are allowed on a leash. Most people just hung out in the parking lot area. I highly suggest going down to the sandy "beach" area. It's quieter and I think the views are better.

Love going to this spot at horsetooth! Great for a picnic with the family or a nice steep hike down the mountain to the water! If you have a camera and you love great photos, the Golden hour here is incredible! Highly recommend 👌 👍

What a wonderland for climbers! There’s boulders and walls galore here with well over 50 problems to solve from v0 to v10. Even if your not a climber, there’s massive rocks to sit upon and have a picnic right before the sun sets over Horsetooth reservoir.

Hiked to this park via Maxwell natural area on the foothills trail. Really good hike and a challenging trail for mountain bikes. The park has a vault toilet and a parking lot with a view of Horsetooth reservoir on one side and all of Fort Collins on the other side.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 18 mentions

“Awesome place to ride your mountain bike, have a picnic, take-in the views of Fort Collins or Horsetooth Reservoir, have a wedding, or have your picture taken.”

  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
