Confirmed from Rowlett Nature Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Great for family rides w people who need an easy trail.”

One of my favorite places in Rowlett, I come here stressed and leave a new woman. It is a small oasis in a suburban area. In the spring the smell of honeysuckle fills the air and makes the relaxing walk beneath the trees that much more enjoyable. In the fall the foliage is a gorgeous kaleidoscope of colors.

Low traffic trail where you can see nature at work. Nesting turtles are a frequent sight, there is access to fishing, and plenty of wildlife for the curious. Exercise caution in the early morning and evening as copperheads are plentiful and active on the trail, preferring to bask in the middle of the trail.

Very peaceful trail to walk and unwind at. It takes about an hour to walk to the end and back. The end opens up to a view of the water, so it's a nice place to chill for a few minutes. I appreciate how easily accessible this trail is. It's just quietly tucked away next to everything else in Rowlett!

This is a great nature trail. It's very well maintained and completely flat. It is gravel. No motorized vehicles are allowed. You're under tree canopy, the majority of the time. The trail cuts a path between houses in a wooded area next to the river.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
