Confirmed from Springfield Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Springfield Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (844 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 7 mentions

“The presence of a playground and well-maintained restrooms with accessible facilities makes it a comfortable stop for families and individuals alike.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“A small lake or creek adds to the scenic beauty, while opportunities for fishing and birdwatching provide leisure activities for visitors.”

I live close by so I take my nightly walks around the ponds. It's so beautiful and so many people do the same thing. So it's good to see a lot of the same faces every night.

Great place to walk/ride bike, clean, and relaxing. You can also bring your kid's to play and they have a restroom.

★★★★★ — Ambrecia , Oct 2020

Awesome park/public land. Decent fishing in either pond for bass, catfish, and bluegill/sunfish. Next to Rowlett Creek. I came to fish and do yoga, but it is good for jogging, exercise, bird watching, photography, and walks as well. Clean!

We were traveling and needed a place to stop to walk the dog. A nice park with a small lake/creek. Saw people fishing and bird watching. A nice playground and nice restrooms with flushing toilets. Handicapped accessible.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🚻 Restrooms 6 mentions

“There is a great picnic area with multiple tables which can be used for larger parties and a few picnic tables off behind the playground and bathrooms.”

  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
