Confirmed from Sage Hills Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Sage Hills Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (71 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“Beautiful and easy stroll among wildflowers during early May.”

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“There's no shade so wear sunscreen and bring plenty of water.”

Super cute trail. Did not go too far but still beautiful views. Trail is well marked and and maintained with not too steep way. Totally enjoyable.

If you head to the WTA entrance that google maps takes you to, there's an automatic gate now that opens at 7:30am so can't access the lot before then. Went Saturday April 29th and there were lots of Balsam Root & Lupine but the hillsides will REALLY be awash in color in another week.

★★★★★ — Kim , May 2023

Pretty trail with lots of wild flowers. When we went, there was a lot less than what we saw on pictures, but there was still some. I posted some pics to show. There is no shade in the trail. We saw snakes trails, so be careful!

When the flowers are in full bloom, this is one of the five prettiest places in the whole state. All trails are built for bikes. I hiked it, but will be pedaling on my next visit.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🅿️ Trailhead parking 19 mentions

“If you use AllTrails for navigation and trailhead parking please note that trailhead parking is very limited and can fit 6-7 cars only.”
