Confirmed from Salt Point State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Amazing and easy hike on the bluff above the ocean.”

Hello... welcome to Salt Point State Park. A little over 3 miles in and out RT from the parking. Easy hike, hug the coastline is the best. ( fun to walk around and check out the cliffs). It’s feeding your ears and your eyes. This is outstanding place and it’s kind of mix between the rocks and the water.

Low-key state park south of Sea Ranch is hands down beautiful. Amazing and easy hike on the bluff above the ocean. It was a gorgeous 70 something degree and sunny day and the park was nearly empty. Saw sea lions and seals in the surf, and numerous vultures and hawks floating on the updrafts.

★★★★★ — Davoud , Aug 2024

Beautiful views all throughout the park, clean trails which are mostly flat, beautiful rock formations. We saw birds, seals flowers all along the way. The color of water had a beautiful gradient from blue to green at different places.

Amazing state park. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Do all the trails, anytime of year, preferably in winter/spring when everything is green.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
