Confirmed from San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏃 great for running 3 mentions

“Great for biking, running, walking, bird watching”

Very nice trail in Santa Clara, trail head starts at Homestead and San Tomas Expy. Trail is well maintained, popular with cyclists, joggers and walkers. Trail eventually joins Bay trail after 237. Trail also goes right next to Levis Stadium.

Well maintained paved trail that runs from Bay lands park to Levis Stadium and further south. Lots of joggers and bikers use this during the day. This goes under several other main roads.

★★★★★ — Ninad , Jan 2023

Nice trail. Mostly covered by shade. The only bad part is between 237 and Levi's stadium where the road is crazy bumpy, especially for road bikes.

★★★★☆ — Aditya , Aug 2019

This is great bike trail - connects to Bay Trail. Most of the street crossings are dipped / separated so no stopping for street traffic. Can get busy with walkers at lunch - also provides access to new Sunnyvale Mall along Hwy 101

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
