Confirmed from Santa Cruz River Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Riverfront park featuring hiking & biking trails, a disc golf course, playground & wildlife views.
What runners say about Santa Cruz River Park
“The availability of multiple restrooms along the trail and shaded benches are a big plus, and they are generally quite clean, which adds to the overall comfort of visitors.”
This past Sunday my partner and I went on a date day to Santa Cruz River Park in Tucson. The park itself wasn't too big because there was a walking and bike riding loop access that goes for miles. But the views were amazing 🤩 and to see a small river in the desert that was awesome too.
Google maps took me to the East side of the river and the parking lot there isn't open, not sure if the other side is... The trail is good though, paved bike lanes and a gravel walking path too. Some information signs, benches and garbage cans along to way.
The Santa Cruz River Front Loop Trail offers a pleasant outdoor experience with a good mix of facilities and learning opportunities. The paved bike trail is smooth and well suited for cyclists, while the parallel gravel path is ideal for walkers and joggers.
Tucson is blessed by linear parks along her rivers. I frequent the Santa Cruz for most of my walks and bike rides. The riparian vegetation is nice and you can stay on the paved bike path or in many sections a dirt path parallels (more or less) the paved path. Tucson's other river parks, Rillito, Pantano, are similar.
