Confirmed from Schiffendecker Farm Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Easy trail with side trails, one to a beaver dam with a pond.”

Wonderful, family-friendly, 1.1-mile hike in a beautiful wooded setting. A beaver dam, streams, bridges and a little elevation make for an engaging walk. The trails are well maintained and there is ample parking.

Small little hiking trail in a forever wild area. Nice scenery and modestly challenging. A little short. The only real distraction from the tranquility is occasionally hearing the overhead speakers from the Walmart and Lowes that this is behind. Otherwise a nice quick trail.

Great little trail! Well-marked, easy to follow, and shaded most of the way (I went July 2022). I took my two dogs and this was the perfect length of a hike (about 40-50 minutes I think?). Generally a pretty easy trail, with a few small hilly parts.

I love this little gem in an area there is no nature, just houses, stores and concrete. I've been training here every day to walk the Camino. Trails are clearly marked and though it's small, it's beautiful with lots of hills .

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🅿️ Trailhead parking 4 mentions

“Only drawbacks are that the parking lot is small (I think only 4 or 5 cars would fit) and on certain parts of the trail you can hear the car traffic.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
