Confirmed from Scholl Canyon Fire Road Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Area for hiking, including kid-friendly paths, with scenic views.
What runners say about Scholl Canyon Fire Road Trailhead
“Absolutely beautiful place and one of the reasons California is still highly sought after.”
“A bit of shade cover in the begin and spattered along the fireroad.”
“Quiet with very few people for a Saturday afternoon!”
“Easy hike at times steep and slippery.”
Easy hike at times steep and slippery. 1.5 hr hike with plenty of time for pictures, discovering and reflection. Birds, rabbits, small animals and plenty of blooming vegetation. Went there beginning of June. Suggest start long route to the west an hour before sunset. So much better than expected!
Very nice hike. Starts flat for a good while and then there are some hills, a lot of up and downs, kinda steep. Excellent t views.
Quiet with very few people for a Saturday afternoon! No dedicated parking so you will have to park on residential street. You can see all of Glendale with its highways and crowded buildings, but also the other side looking at the Mountains. I did the whole trail with stops/pictures in about 1h 15m.
Great hike. A bit of shade cover in the begin and spattered along the fireroad. Great panoramic view of nature and city juxtaposed to one another and good parking with shade to return back to.

“The steps to get up to the trail are steep but the trail looked less challenging once you climbed the two sets of stairs.”
