Confirmed from Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This wildlife reserve is an incredible escape from the hustle bustle of the valley! The are a few signs posted that give you information about the reserve and the wildlife in it, but I'm glad that this is free and open to the public.

This is really my go-to spot for bird watching. I consider myself and amateur ornithologist and this place is great for variety and some what uncommon birds. Last time I was there I saw 2 Osprey and at least 5 Belted Kingfishers. I took saw a couple Juvinile Yellow Crowed Night Herons and put a couple pics.

So much L I F E here! It’s a beautiful place to take a nature walk, have a picnic, observe butterflies, dragonflies, birds. Great nature oasis in the middle of the valley in the city. I have been several times in a month or so because I love it so much.

Great for birding! Easy trails and wonderful for exercising and getting your steps in. Could use a little more TLC from the city, but they try, especially with the planting of many new trees.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
